Got Skills? We need you!

Are you or do you know someone who is looking for a bit of experience with graphic design? Birds in Backyards is looking for a volunteer to help us out one day a week (7 hours) for 3 months with some basic graphic design and education work.

Activities include:

  • Working with the program team and BirdLife Australia branch network to create regional bird lists for our Birds in Backyards A4 posters;
  • Using a formatted template to create regional bird identification sheets for use in our Birds in Schools project across Australia; and
  • Using a formatted template to create a series of 15 bird trading cards.

Ideally we are looking for someone with their own laptop and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign). The role can be done remotely, or alternatively we can give you a desk at BirdLife Australia's head office in Melbourne or the BirdLife Discovery Centre at Sydney Olympic Park.

We value the amazing work our volunteers do for us and will provide you with experience in working in the conservation sector and on the job training in communications and design. Working hours are flexible and managing your time will be important. We know our volunteers may have other roles. Start date is negotiable.

If you are interested, please send an expression of interest email to birdsinbackyards@birdlife.org.au and include a brief bio.
