NSW NPWS needs your help with the White Ibis & Cockatoo Survey Sunday 26th October 2014
The Community Survey of the White Ibis Population commenced in 2003.
- This survey aims to get a better understanding of the distribution and abundance of Ibis across NSW & since 2010 across Australia.
- Increasingly, Ibis are moving into urban environments bringing them into conflict with human’s e.g. affecting aircraft safety, water quality and biodiversity.
- Please report the number of White Ibis you see: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/surveys/WhiteIbisSurvey.htm
- Reports within a week of the 26th are accepted.

The Community Survey of the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Population starts this year: 2014.
- This survey aims to get a better understanding of the distribution and abundance of Cockies across NSW, particularly in urban areas.
- Cockatoos are moving into urban environments where they compete with other native species for limited large hollows in which to nest.
- Please report the number of Cockatoos you see: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/surveys/CockatooPopulationSurvey.htm
