Unfortunately the natural world is in competition with human development and therefore in constant pressure and decline. The need for our economies to constantly grow means that the natural world is constantly being exploited. The system builders are oblivious of the consequences of their decisions.
For Australian birds, natives=life, exotics=death, so do them a favour and go plant some natives and save their lives.
As a species do we have to be so crass in our attitude towards Earth? Surely we have the capacity to tread more lightly. Perhaps getting rid of the money economy while pigs fly overhead might help.
