Mission Impossible

Had a bird visit the backyard today that I haven't seen before. It was about the size of a noisy friarbird or maybe slightly larger. It looked a greenish fawn colour when it was sitting but was a very bright green on the wings when it flew. It was feeding on the ground near a rosella when I 1st saw it then flew into a tree where it was eventually chased off by a currawong. Only bird I can find that is similar to it in the Complete Book of Australian Birds is the green catbird. Didn't look green enough for a catbird when it was sitting though and it's not rain forest around here.
Naturally when I tried to take a photo the camera wouldn't work and by the time I got it working I was only able to get 1 shot which is very fuzzy before the currawong chased it off.

Hello, it might be a female bowerbird? (Female Satin Bowerbird)

Hi Andy, I don't think it was a bowerbird, the wings seemed to be too bright a green, when it 1st flew off the ground I thought it was a scaly breasted lory but it was too big and flew more like a wattle bird or friar bird.

I'd have to agree with Andy, first thing that came to mind was Female Satin Bowerbird and to be honest I can't see it being anything else.

I have to agree with Andy and Amateur. Female and imm male bowerbirds can have fairly wide colour variations. Ray

It came back today and is definitely a female satin bower bird. I didn't realise they could be such an olive green colour, which goes to show how little I know. The male was with her this time so there was no doubt.
