I’ve seen an unusual bird in the NOWRA CBD lately their feeding in the morning on the fruit /berries on the trees in the main street in town. They look very similar to the cat bird/bower bird in shape and colour. The birds I’ve seen have a distinct red circle around the eye of the male I presume it’s a male. I’ve looked in numerous books and spoken to people about what I may be seeing. I’ve been back twice to verify my sighting but still have not found a picture of said specimen and I wondered if any one could help me.
Don't suppose it could be a figbird could it? We get lots of them up here (south of Brisbane) but I understand that further South they are a duller and darker green, black head, red skin around the eye. Just a suggestion, could easily be wrong.

Second thoughts - what about an olive-backed Oriole?
