I took these close up photos of a King Parrot feather that I found at my back door. I can't believe how complicated they are. The closer you look the more intricate they seem. Also, the green colour they reflect seems to only come from a small part down the centre of each "branch".
Well ..... I thought it was interesting, I hope you do too.
(The two pics that look the same (but different?), are taken, one with a black cloth behind it and one with a white piece of paper behind it). :)

Very interesting Roger, the engineering that went into to these is simply fantastic, nice shots.

The evolution of these feathers is breath-taking. A miracle in its own right.
I love feathers. They are natures miracles. They are so many shapes and sizes for so many different purposes.

These are my kind of photos, Art Photography at its best.
Before I started to take photos of birds, I loved industrial and mechanical photography, shapes , angles etc.
those are great Roger.

Yes its great to see something a bit different. It helps us appreciate and marvel at the birds even more
I had fun "playing" with my new extension tubes. These were taken with a standard 50mm lens. Sorry I didn't reply earlier, I have been at work and it seems I'm not getting notifications again. I'll have to check my inbox to be sure. The most frustrating thing was that while I had my camera all tied up on the tripod with a short lens a whole group of Buff-Rumped thornbills landed right on my back doorstep! Oh well, had fun anyway.
