Kite

I took these last year and decided to share them just to try and show the size of this bird - i couldn't get over it. the bird chasing it is a crow and they are not small birds - i thought it is a square tailed kite.

Thanks :)

Great capture and hard to get. Don't you love watching a "dog fight" like that?

basal = base of the feather, closest to the skin.
To see the basal part of the feather you must have the bird in your hand :)
Raven is a good guess because crows are more inland but I'm not sure,
can't tell by looking at the photo.

it was exciting to see Cath & Shane
bushanwater - it went on for quite sometime - there were 2 crows giving it curry and while the crows were flapping like mad, the kite just glided on the wind with hardly a movement of it's wings - it was something to see
thanks :)
