Shane and i went for a drive this morning. Unfortunately it started to rain way too much to get out of the car but we managed to get a couple of good shots of the Cape Barren Goose. He was just wandering on the side of the road at Shelley Beach.

I saw one in a zoo (not caged as they were free to wander but stayed because of food etc.), lovely birds, I wish I could see one in the wild. Love the last photo with the muddy feet!

Thanks for the comments, he/she sure is lovely. We had just pulled over at Shelley Beach (at Phillip Island not far from Seal rocks)to have a look at the view and there she was.

Great photos. The only place I've seen them is Western Plains Zoo when I was a kid. I remember one stealing a kid's sandwich right out of his hand and the teacher chasing the goose to get it back. She didn't catch it but I'm not sure he would've wanted to eat the sandwich even if she had.
