Nankeen kestrel

I went for drive to look for BOP and was lucky enough to see nankeen kestrels and a brown falcon. It was being attacked by what looks like a magpie lark

Wow, love the details on the plumage of the kestrel you caught in the first 3 pics, and how you captured the actions of the swooping magpie lark in the last two, the wings spreading out nicely showing the black "fingertips" and the tail fanned.

Great shots birdgirl, you've done it again. Nice looking BOP isn't it?

Yes it is gorgeous. The colours look different when it is perching to when it is flying. I managed to approach behind a tree and photograph between 2 branches, then when I moved and crunched the shed bark it flew off.

Wow birdgirl, such lovely shots! I've been getting interested in BOP lately, because I've taken my binoculars to work and realised that the "crows" flying in the distances are actually BOP.

It must have been exciting to get close enough to get such good shots. Well done.

Andy.
