Western Treatment Plant.

Like M-L (Araminta), I was also out at the WTP on Monday. Most of the day was fine but occasionally the fog rolled in, the sun disappeared and the temperature plummeted. Brrrrrr...

The birds didn't seem to mind and the Black-shouldered Kites were very common and obliging. We looked for the Blue-winged Parrots but failed to see any.

1. Black-shouldered Kite. I love their eyes!

2. Musk Duck.

3. A pair of Swamp Harriers.

4. A gorgeous little Golden-headed Cisticola.

5. A couple of symmetrical feeding Black Swans.

Hi George, the Swamp Harriers are the same two I saw, love your photo of both of them together. It was just amazing how many Black-shouldered Kites we saw. Great photos. That place is so addictive, I could go there every week. Can't wait for warmer weather. (we could all have a picnic there one day)

That's a productive day George. Those  kites have never been obliging when I go down there wink

Cheers, Owen.

Great shots George. Glad the sun came out for a while. Love the Cistacola, i was lucky enough to get a shot of one too. I tend to stalk them though. Your swan shot is just beautiful.

Great photos GeorgeP, I just read today that the WTP is one of the top 2 places in Australia for Birds.

Great pics.  Where in Australia is this place?  I'm envious.

Excellent pics George, I like the harrier shots showing the legs in full and good to see a musk duck too.

Great shots George. Love the harrier's long legs and the swans look so elegant. All this talk of so many BOP is making me turn green!

Thanks George.  I will probably never get down there but glad to sit back and let those who do get there do all the hard work so I can enjoy the pictures :)
