I heard a noise I thought at first was the call of an Indian myna because of the long string of sounds and mimicry, but it was this little bird, which I think is a clamorous reed-warbler. I was lucky that one came to the front of the reeds, which were much taller than I am and many metres wide around the pond. I checked on the tawny frogmouth I saw last week; no young yet and I couldn't see the other bird. I saw some very young magpies in one of the beautiful, lichen-encrusted Moreton Bay figs

Hey Birdgirl..... gorgeous shots! The reed warbler looks fantastic. I saw one once at Hunter Wetlands and that was the only time for me. The make a very noticeable noise don't they?
The reeds make a really interesting background for them.

Just LOVE the Frogmouth.
Thanks. I'll have to remember to check once a week for young - that's something I'd really like to see
Hey birdie thanks for your comments on the clamorous reed-warbler. A bird with a name like that just has to be good!
