Today I went in to the Hunter Wetlands Centre to have a look at the nesting birds. On the way there I had a look around the model airfield for BOP and instead found cute little chestnut-breasted mannikins. Until today the only finch I had noticed in the wild was the red-browed finch (common around here)

Hunter Wetlands Centre birds
Nice one Birdgirl. I must visit Hunter Wetlands someday. I believe they close a part off soon to stop people annoying the breeders. It would be like the Alligator Farm in Florida. The birds must be everywhere. I love your INtermediate Egret shot!
Love the chestnuts Birdgirl
