I am not sure if I have 2 or more different small birds. The three I have captioned 'Yellow-rumped thornbill' have the black crown with white spots, but have differing amounts of yellow on the breast and belly. They were all in the same place

Thornbills
Hey birdgirl. first one looks like a Yellow Thornbill and second one is definitely Yellow-rumped thornbill.
Cheers, Owen.
BTW... great pics. Thornbills are very hard to shoot.
Cheers, Owen.
Great shots of these (for me) difficult birds to photograph. I have been trying to photograph the 'butter bums' without success for quite a while. Nice work.

Lovely catches of a difficult little bird. What is the reason for the different colour casts?
Sunshine Coast Queensland
They were pottering around on the grass, but not as close as I would have liked. Birdie it was late afternoon with the golden sunlight coming and going
Well done Birdgirl, I tried to get these little fella's when I was in Murrurundi recently to no avail, they are exceptionally hard to get, you certainly have little birds mastered now.
