I went out to Conimbla National Park on Saturday and was lucky enough to find two birds I've never seen before.

Neither have I. The speckled warbler has some similarities to the thornbill doesn't it? Although it looks bigger, puffier and the stripes more striking. Thanks for sharing.

You're right Kathiemt, the Speckled Warbler is similar to the thornbill. A little bigger and the stripes are definately more noticable. This one was behaving similar to a Yellow-rumped Thornbill, spending alot of time on the ground and was quite tolerant of me standing nearby.
