I was taking some photos of a male Striated Pardalote that was sitting high in a tree, after some time of preening he flew off and disappeared. Then I noticed the female sitting on a fence. Here they are.

beautiful photos M-L, how do you tell the male from the female.
Diane
Although it might not look that obvious in the photos, the male bird in the tree is a lot brighter and the orange on the chest seams larger.Much easier to tell the difference between the sexes in the Spotted Pardalote, in the male the throat is bright yellow, and in the female cream and the spots on the head are yellow.
Thanks for your nice comment
