You never know what impresses the Ladies ? Even if it's only filled with a lot of air, making yourself look big often does the trick.(it'll deflate soon)
Magnificent sequence Laza!! I had no idea that Muskducks displayed like this - I'm amazed at how he's flicked his tail over his back a-la scorpion Fantastic!
On the Musk Duck topic ... I mentioned that I have never seen one out of the water, them or Grebes . Anyway a friend of mine was at Bibra Lake the other day and managed to get a photo of one ( which makes me wonder if it was the same one I took photos of a couple of days prior cause it was very close to the bank ) . Now I am wondering if any one else has seen Musk Ducks on land.
My friend took this on her phone so the quality isnt perfect but you can totally see it on land. I am so envious she got to see this.
Ok so after a few more visits to Bibra Lake fascinated by this Musk Duck being so close to the waters edge and even coming up on land. My worries about it being sick or injured have been resolved . It has taken on the bad habit of trusting people for food. I watched it yesterday begging at the waters edge with some Muscovy Ducks competing for food from some young children, it is sad to see how trust worthy and dependant they become.
