Hi can someone help me with this bird call? I've been hearing this bird around Boort Lake, VIC where I holiday. I haven't actually sighted the bird but the call is so unusual. Oh and this is me whistling the call as I never seem to be able to record it when I hear it. It's as close as I can get to the actual sound.

Thanks Araminta but I definitely was not on the wine when I heard this. Call usually starts at dawn but I have heard it also walking around the lake around 10am
That's a fair imitation of a pied butcherbird, I'd say.
