Eurasian Coot in the morning light

Finally got out to see a few birds in the last week after a few months

I don't usually bother with the Coots but seeing as it was the only co operative bird I had I thought I would study it for a while .... I wasn't giving them enough credit, they are really interesting to observe as they feed . They were not at all shy after I had been there for a while too

Lovely photo birdie , I too like photographing cootsheart. They have a rather interesting profile when you shoot them up close and lets not forgot about those strange feetsurprise. I also have managed to take photos of them fighting in the mating season , boy what an event that was.

You have captured this one beautifully in the morning light. smiley

Thank you Shoop .... it is nice to see them online without the dreadful Facebook compression that is for sure wink

I must admit iti is nice to do something different ... I am not usually into Black boirds either or water birds as such, but I do love a bird with a beautiful red eye !!!

Great shot. They provide some wonderful opportunities in the right light.

Yes they do thanks Rick , I usually just think of them as black blobs on the water  lol

Beautiful light in this shot birdie, in such a pretty & peaceful looking habitat. Black blobs on water is the ususl theme of my Coot shots :-D, unlike yours which has divine detail. Love it! More birdy shots from birdie please :-)
