Hi, I am in Kuala Lumpur. Took these birds shots in the past 2 days. Will anyone know what birds are they? Thank you. Ling

Ling - This is an Australian bird site. You need to find a Malaysian site. Anyhow, your birds are Spotted Turtle-dove and Oriental Magpie Robin. Lorne
Hi Lorne, Thanks a lot. Cheers. Ling
Hi Ling, please don't be discouraged from posting on this site. I know you have asked questions from time to time, I thought you lived in Melbourne? So, you might be on holidays in KL?. We also have had a gentleman from California and other people from overseas who posted birds from time to time. I'd love to see some of your photos. Thanks for sharing

You may be interested to know, Ling, that the Spotted Turtle Dove is native to south east Asia but is a feral bird in Australia where it takes up the ecological space of birds like the Peaceful Dove. This is why I would discourage their breeding at my place should they ever try to do this. Fortunately, there's a good variety of native birds which, so far, have done the discouraging on my behalf!
Hi Araminta, Thanks for your reply. Yes. I do live in Melbourne. Came to Kuala Lumpur for a short break only. I like taking birds photos but have limited knowledge of birds as I was growing up in Hong Kong, a city where birds are rarely seen these days. Sad. I post photos in this forum to get more knowledge about birds. I find them fasinating. Cheers.
Hi Woko, thank you for responding to my posting. These doves were relaxing and drinking water from the swimming pool. Sometimes with a bit of luck, I could see birds taking bath in the pool. Cheers. Ling
