I saw a bird this afternoon I haven't seen before. I was trying to get photos of a weebill and what I think is a speckled warbler. This bird is of a similar size to those birds, maybe slightly larger. Seen in scrubby yellow box regrowth feeding on the trunk and branches, central tablelands near Bathurst. Distinctive features are a dark stripe along the leading edge of the wing, yellow feet, dark spots under the pale rump, and rust coloured patches that show in flight under the wings.
