We just did one of our 'Bucket List' items and had a holiday in Canada and Alaska.
Whilst in Vancouver we visited Grouse Mountain and were privileged to see Mum (or was it Dad?) Barn Swallow feeding young.
We start off with the babies literally singing for their supper.
(Most of these sequences are 1/12th to 1/14th of a second apart. The little birds move pretty quickly!)

One last sequence for you...
Apparently, it pays to block out the opposition with your wing!

Wow what an experience to watch. Great shots.
Thanks Timothy. We were truly privileged.
I hope I haven't bored everyone with so many photos but I could have just watched them for hours!

Well done! Clear shots of the parent birds in flight. What settings did you use for those?

Hi Reflex,
I had the shutter set for multi shot at about 12 frames/second.It was with 70-200 lens at 200mm, iso 2000 (it was poor light - we were actually in cloud!) and I used 1/1600s at f/9.0.

Hehehe, lovely photos! :)
I feel sorry from the second one on the left.
Just brilliant! Where's the ref to cry foul for the wing in the face technique? No complaints from me about the amount of shots Roly that's for sure, fantastic storyboard you've captured there.

What a fantastic set of shots!
Feel sorry too for the second on the left, just not his day
