Found a crop of these fun little birds at Wynnum. The one with 2 and 3 birds to a reed stalk were all happy until a fourth one came along and tipped the stalk over, and they all had to take off.

Reflex: No, it's just part of the fluffy stuff from the plant.
These were at Sandy Camp as well.
I'd say that fluffy stuff has a good chance of ending up as part of a nest one day.
