ROBIN

Had a discussion with birders about this one and we couldn't agree. Two photos of same bird, taken in Lane Cove National Park, Sydney.

It's a Rose Robin. Pink Robin is out of range, also the back of a Pink Robin is Black whereas on a Rose Robin it is grey as in your photo.

A third yes for Rose Robin.  I see Pinks frequently and the male is almost jet black as Timothy has said, plus the pink extends over the belly to legs pretty uniformly, Rose the pink is concentrated in the chest area not the belly.

Thanks again. The discussion started over a few reported sightings of pink robins in Sydney when I remembered I had these photos but we couldn't decide so I decided to post. Thanks
