A mixture from today

Help needed on these three birds taken today South Coast from Adelaide.

I think Striated Thornbill, Pectoral Sandpiper and Blue-winged Parrot but would

appreciate confirmation or otherwise.

Certainly Striated Thornbill very nice.

I was thinking another possibility is the Elegant Parrot for the last one. Don't know though. Blue-winged could be right.

The relatively indistinct, narrow blue wing patch & indistinct frontal band not extending beyond the eye are features of a juvenile Elegant Parrot, I believe. Other members may have other thoughts.

That's what I was thinking Woko.

Thanks Owl, Woko, I think you are correct with Elegant Parrot.

Looks like a juvenile and according to P&K a Blue Winged would be a non breeding migrant.

Thanks for your help, still need an opinion on the Shorebird smiley

No worries... don't bother asking me for shorebirds I live in the Mountains! I'm trying to learn them though.

I'm not 100% sure, but your shorebird looks OK for Pectoral.

that's right you need a passport to go to Norfolk Island laugh

I agree with Pectral Sandpiper, your pic is very close to the pic I posted of the PS on Christmas Island recently, except facing the other way
