Hi, I'm new to the site but would appriciate some help. its a small bird in a goblet shaped nest with 2 off white and burgundy spotted eggs. Our location is central west NSW just west of the Blue Mountains.
I'm thinking a weebil, but the under eye yellow has me stumped.
Looks to me like a Yellow Faced Honeyeater, eggs match according to Morcombe, and the yellow on the cheek and just at the back above the eye. Always happy to be corrected. By the way, welcome, hope you enyoy your time here.

Welcome to Birds in Backyards, stevejomac. It's wonderful that you have Yellow-faced Honeyeaters nesting on your patch. And your photos are not only great but also informative.
Just a note of caution. Many bird species will abandon their nests if humans intrude. It would be a shame if this happened with your Yellow-faced Honeyeaters.
Happy to say she's still nesting and 1 chick has hatched!
I agree to be careful when observing. I managed the photo with a long lens perched on a chair. Worthwhile though.
Aw cute! That's great that a chick has hatched, stevejomac. Maybe you can post a few picture when the chick gets a few feathers.
Hope the other egg safely hatches.

Good work, stevejomac.
