Hi all
I'm an ex-South African now living in Sydney. I grew up learning a love for birds and identifying them from my maternal grandmother. Consequently, I am continuing to enjoy all the lovely birds here. It's not a major, serious thing, but I like to know what I'm looking at, so identify what I see and get excited if something is uncommon or out of place.
I posted in the sightings thread today, after seeing an unfamiliar parrot on our front lawn, which turned out to be an Australian Ringneck - a visitor form the Western side of the continent.
Cheers

umm - neat? I guess so - been posting enough on Facebook and other forums for it not to be novel. That's not what excites me. What excites me is a bird in the wrong place and wanting to know if others have seen Twentyeights around Sydney, and does this mean a change in location, and if so, why?
hehe - so that's what it is!!
Dang - I'm getting excited over tourists! Silly me - shows I still have to soak in more of the local colour before I can call myself true blue....
