What are these?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I was at Lake Tyers looking for Hooded Plovers(I am a volunteer on the Bass Coast for FOHP, but having a short holiday in East Gippsland)).

I know a bit about Hoodies, but nothing much else about other waders, just that I like them, so have no idea what these are, and Googling does not get me definitive answers.

Those are 2 Red Capped Plovers in the foreground which would give an idea of the size of the birds in that flock.

So the question is what was I looking at?
