Home ›Endangered Regent Honeyeater population could be recovering
Submitted by Chickowee on 26 Aug 2017.
The Regent Honeyeater is one of Australia's most critically endangered birds, with a population thought to be as low as 400. But bird lovers have been thrilled to find it's in high numbers in recent surveys across south eastern Australia. They're crediting favourable seasonable conditions, and the tireless efforts of conservationists to restore the honeyeater's habitat for the results.
