Thank you both. Books don't seem to show the dark line below the beak, and yet when I google photos there does seem to be a line. And there seems to be a blue hue around the eyes in my photo so perhaps that is what it is - a Little Friarbird.
Yeah, the chinstrap threw me. No Aussie bird in south-west Queensland has that. I think the light and angle is tricking us. Has to be a Little Friarbird. LJ
It's not that obvious... immediate thought was Little Friarbird... not sure though... LJ
That was my first thought as well.
