I am thinking intermediate but happy to be corrected.

Great Egret. Note the bare gape skin below the eye reaches to back edge of the eye. On Intermediate, this bare skin stops at the middle of the eye.

I have talked to a few people today and they confirm Great.
What put me off was the size, it was smaller than the usual great that i see here.

I have trouble with these as well.
Does that mean the first picture here is an Intermediate Egret and the second is a Great Egret?
