Spangled Drongo?

Hi All,

Today I saw briefly what I believe was a Spangled Drongo, but it was in Southern Coastal Vic. which is not supposed to be it's habitat. According to my reference books it is not seen below southern NSW. I have seen many Drongos in central and northern Queensland near the coast, but never in Vic. It had the distinctive forked tail and red eye of a Drongo. Unfortunately I was at a nursery buying some plants at the time when I saw it, and didn't have a camera with me, so I have no photos. Has anyone else seen one this far south?

No.

Put the record on eremaea under Birdline Victoria.

They do occur as vagrants in Victoria, and even in Tasmania.

Do as Lorne suggests, it is a locally rare sighting.
