The G Robustas were busy this morning, superbs, eastern & yellow rosellas redwattle bird, sulpurs and this fellow. My first thought was red rumped but does not look right.

Hi Shorty, not sure the head looks too different, shape & colour wise. I know female heads are smaller as are the beaks but this looks very different, not just smaller as for colour differences can't find any photos to compare for major lack of colour. Here is a superb from this morning. ad

My second guess was juvenile superb.
We don't see many in this part of town & they are always coloured could be the females are on the nest at this time of year & only the males come in feed? It's only a short window but I'll keep an eye on them...I want a decent photo of them cheers david
