Had Mum and Dad sitting on eggs like up untill last night. Woke up this morning to find eggs and Mum gone and only a partial nest left. Went down stairs no broken eggs or nest fragments. Going to call in forensics as its a mystery? Can they move nest? Should i out in a nesting box in case a possum got them?
If they hatched they would still be there, wouldnt they?

This species is introduced. I'm delighted when their attempts to colonise my property are disrupted as I'm keen to see the native Peaceful Dove set up shop here. From my observation the two species tend to occupy a similar niche so I don't want them competing.
Still sad for mum, they nearly made it to the end. Would there be native Doves in the middle of St Kilda, We have a very advanced Garden!
Yes, waz e james. It does tug at the heart strings. For me it's also sad that so many of our native birds have been dominated by introduced birds even to the point of extinction for some species in some areas. That's even sadder I reckon.
