Can anyone guess what bird is nesting in this tree hollow near my house? Interesting to note the wearing away of wood where parents have been perching.
I must admit I wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't seen the parents there before. But I do know what birds are using the hollows at my place so if I didn't see the parents and only the chick, then I might've been able to guess what it was.
Do you know what it is or is this a quiz? Hmm, this is difficult. I guess Nankeen Kestrel.
I might say kookaburra? Not going on much though
The way the creature is positioned I'd say it's an Australian Owlet Night-jar. If so it's highly unlikely to be a pest, though.
That was my first thought Woko! The second photo made me question it, i'm not an expert though
Second thoughts people? I'll clarify that it's not a pest just being "pesty" by appearing like that.
And yes this is a quiz! I'll give answer soon but I'm not yet saying if someone has guessed correctly or not. Any other guesses?

Elsie you are correct! It is a Kookaburra chick.
