More Shore Birds

I know, I know, we're all sick of trying to identify shore birds.

I went to Toorbul, QLD with my mum today, as she just bought a Tamron 150mm-600mm and I was showing her how to use it.

Anyway the tide was particularly high, so istead of beaing spread out, all the shore birds were in one place.

These are my gueses, please confirm:

Bar-Tailed Godwit - Green

Great Know - Blue

Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper - Yellow

Cheers

I agree, although it's a little difficult for me to rule out Pectoral Sandpiper for the yellow circled bird, I'd put my money on Sharpie.

Thanks Steve

The Great knot was a guess as was the Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper

I thought others may have commented as well.

Maybe the picture is not good enough.

Or maybe, like me, they're not too confident on identifying shorebirds!

Sorry Devster - I agree with your guesses, though I am certain that the blue-circled bird is a Great Knot - I reckon that he has a Great Know(ledge) of navigation laugh

I attach a Pectoral Sandpiper pic for your review, even at this distance there was a fair discussion from others before PS id was accepted

Lol Woko, Shorebirds do test ones knowledge.

It's hard enough identifing them with a clear photo like yours Peter, let alone a fuzzy one like mine.

Thanks guys.

I will mark off:

Bar-tailed Godwit - Green

Great Knot - Blue

Sharp-tailed Sandpiper - Yellow (I do however know what you mean Steve about the Pectoral Sindpiper)

Cheers
