On Sunday, at a local upland swamp, I found myself searching for Southern Emu-wrens. I searched the whole morning from 8am-1pm and found no trace of them. However I know there've been recent reports of them there, it's just a matter of being pesistent and patient. So I will not rest until I find them!
Despite no Emu-wrens, it was still a nice day for birds. The Sacred Kingfisher/Spotted Pardalotes/Bassian Thrush weren't very photogenic and I had trouble with the Scrubwren. I was hoping to see was 2 flycatchers but I only managed to shoot the Leaden (male). Happy with the King Parrot and male Eastern Whipbird though Good fun anyway.
And also a Brown Thornbill. Not my best shot of one but not bad.
Very, very envious of your Eastern Whipbird shots.
They are great!
These birds are my nemisis to photograph.
I have seen them plenty of times but they are ALWAYS in thick scrub
Love the King Parrot shot also.
Cheers

Thanks Yes, the Whipbird's always a challenge.
Well done!
Those are the best photographs of the Whipbird I have ever seen and the little Thornbills can be just about as challenging.

That's a high praise Reflex
Great work with the Whipbird, Owl - beautifully captured.
Lovely one of the little pardalotte amongst all those branches.
Once again, thanks WD. It's lovely to have people appreciate the efforts of others.
