When i first started birding a couple of years ago i missed out on getting shots of a Powerful Owl sighted in Canberra ( thanks to a complete sphincter, Long story ).
Today i broke the drought thanks to a fellow birder reporting his sighting on the cog chatline.
Not great pics due to it's location but still happy to get them.
Heading off tomorrow on a road trip to Mount Glorious , so hopefully this is a good omen to getting many more new ones when i get there

In this shot you can see the tail of a ringtail possum at the Owls tail feathers.

Congratulations RawShorty .... well done! Nice photos.
I know the feeling as I got my very first owl photos yesterday ... also a powerful owl.
Good luck on your road trip!
Im soooo jealous
I'm sooo keen to see a Powerful Owl!
Its number one on my list.
Oh nice shots by the way
Congratulations, rawshorty. Years ago, before I even moved here, there used to be Powerful Owls in the area. I have yet to see or hear one since I've been here. Take as many photos and videos of them as you can whenever you get the chance. They're wonderful pictures. Don't talk like that. Any photos of a Powerful Owl is better than none. Keep up the excellent job birding and photographing them you are doing.
I'm at Tenterfield, NSW. (Formerly known as "Hyperbirds".)
Congratulations indeed. I would love to see one of these birds let alone photograph one.

Arrived at my cabin yesterday afternoon and could hear so much birdlife around me, Wompoo fruit Doves and Whipbirds calling all around but yet to find one. Raining a bit this morning but should clear up soon.

You sure it was a pale yellow Robin & not an Eastern Yellow Robin?
Wow a Logrunner, don't even know what the heck that is!
Was it a trueTop Knot or just a crested Pigeon?
Look forward to seeing some more Pics.
