Hello everyone;
My name is Logan Lalonde, and I am a 14 year old avid birder from Canada, who is presently in Sydney. I have been in your country for the past month, birding hard around NSW and Victoria. It has been a fantastic trip so far, and I've far superceded my expectations. I will try to slot some time to post some of my pictures I've taken so far here, but right now, the internet is quite patchy.
I have aver one question for you, if you don't mind. I am heading up to Newcastle from January 4th to the 5th, and the Hexham Swamp Reserve is high on my wish list to bird at. The only problem is, I don't have the permit to enter, which leaves me at square one. Do any of you know how to attain the key, or to those who have one themselves, be interested in meeting up there on either one of those dates?
If you have any answers to those questions, please email me at
I am sorry for for being such a bother at such short notice, but this is a spot I would really love to check out.
Thank you very much, and Happy New Year!
Logan

Since you're in Sydney, too bad you weren't out in the Richmond Lowlands this afternoon.
I saw Black and Brown Falcons, adult and immature Spotted Harrier too. Check Birdline NSW later when my reports should get posted.
