Found this little thing hurt on the road..any idea what it is?
In what part of our great nation did you see this young bird, nickdreise?
It could be a young Australasian Figbird? It's got the skin around the eye and the flecks on it's breast.
i reckon it's a fledgling.. hope it was relocated as roads and young birds don't mix well...

We looked after it till the parents started to swoop us. We didnt want to touch it so we just forced it onto the sidewalk.
I was thinking a figtail
What is the best form of action? Should i call the RSPCA?

Zosterops' advice was sound. Keep the bird out of the way of cars, trucks, planes & ocean liners. Your action in forcing it onto the footpath & leaving it close to where the parents could attend to it makes absolute sense.
