Need help with lots of unidentified photos

Hi,

I just got back from a 19 day family roadtrip on which I took quite a few bird photos, and have decided to see how many different birds I can photograph this year.  Catch is that I'm not very good at identification - I've got the Field Guide to Australian Birds, plus searching here and other places.

What's the best way for me to get help identifying them, should I just post them all here (or point to my Flickr album) ?

e.g. here's a few I don't know what they are - In some cases I may have a second photo, I only uploaded one for each:

Thanks for any help!

Kevin

I think you should post the photos here to be identified as there are many members that are more than happy to help id a bird.

Thanks for that - I'll post them in a few groups (based on location)

If you need to identify birds, then you've come to the right place Zaphus.

There are birders from all states with different strengths on identifying birds.

I totally agree with Tim.

1. Eastern Yellow Robin

2.Female Satin Bowerbird

3. Eastern Whipbird (Those suckers are hard to get)

Cheers

Thanks Devster

The Whipbird was on the foreshore walk at Lakes Entrance, near the historic buildings - it had been following us along the walk, always out of sight but loud, then it appeared for a few moments and I managed to get a shot of it.

As well as posting here, Zaphus, you could join a bird watching group where there are always experts to help you. That's if your of a mind.

That's something I've thought about - I've noticed that there are some birdwatching/photography groups - that's probably what I'm after.  Need to find out if there is anything in the local area - I can see there's one for the whole of Melbourne, maybe that will do
