I seem to be on a bit of a roll here this morning - thanks for the help!
Here's a few from around Parkes and Peak Hill that I need help identifying
1: Spotted this in the corner of a photo of another bird, not much to go on - this was at the Parkes Seweage ponds :
2:
3: Possibly a Buff Rumped Thornbill ?
4:
5: A couple of ducks that I can't find in my book:
6:
7: some really aggressive and annoying birds at the Parkes Radio Telescope
8: And I'm hoping this is a Wedge Tailed Eagle, but perhaps it's a Kite ?
9: These birds had clear white edges on their wings as they flew away, perhaps White Winged Chough ?
5. Mallard (domestic type)
6. Muscovy duck (domestic type)
1) Black winged Stilt
2)Don't know
3) Buff rumped Thornbill but not 100%
4) Red capped Robin?
5)&6) hybrids
7) Apostlebirds
8) Wedge tailed Eagle
9) White winged Chough
Sorry about the unsures but I am learning as well.
Thanks - I also thought #4 might be a Red Capped Robin. There was a sign at the location (Peak Hill gold mine) saying 'watch for these birds' but I was distracted by family and didn't read it, if I'd snapped a photo of the sign I'm pretty sure showed what they were :-)
2: Juvenile Rufous Whistler?
agree with Tim on #2 as young Rufous Whistler
Peter
Thanks!
