While on my trip to your country this December, we tried hard for Painted Honeyeater before lucking into a nesting pair of birds south of Deniliquin, in NSW. We first saw the male flying dramatically overhead, followed by the female. They both started going to and from their delicately constructed nest just feet overhead on a hanging branch. It';s built so simply that you can see the eggs from directly below. In this case, one of the chicks had hatched, and the parents were both bussing food from the nearby trees to it.

Female Painted Honeyeater with a berry in her mouth ( I completely forget what kind ) for her offspring.
Painted Honeyeater nest - you can just see the chick peeking through near the very top.
Have a great day, everyone!

Great work finding a nesting pair of uncommon species! Beautiful photos!
That berry might be a mistletoe berry, Logan.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Australia.
Great find!
