Taken this morning at Narooma, NSW. I'm guessing a cuckoo with that barring under the tail. Maybe an immature Fan-tailed Cuckoo? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Looks like an immature Horsefields Bronze Cuckoo.....Although I've not seen an immature one before.

Ah yes Dave you might be right. I'm not very familar with Bronze-cuckoos as I've never lived in their range. The white line behind the eye is starting to come through and the straight black/white bands seem to match the photo's I've checked.

Thanks to you all. Still a little doubt. This bird had a brown head and no markings at all on its underparts - just buffish grey. But then the tail was shorter than a Brush...........all very confusing.
