I went to Barren Grounds Nature Reserve this morning and I saw 3 new birds. Eastern Bristlebird, Pilotbird and Bassion Thrush. I also heard a Ground Parrot.
Thanks! No, unfortunately I couldn't get any. I saw two of them, the first one, when I saw it, it just went into the Heath straightaway and the second one just jumped out in front of me and ran along the path and then into the heath.

Great photos! I have seen Eastern Bristlebirds at Barren Grounds, and you are right - no chance to photograph them. They just dart across the path and disappear again...
I posted the wrong Pilotbird pic, here is the better one:
Love the Pilotbird. No photo's of Eastern Bristlebird?

Great photos ... a successful expedition seeing three new birds !
Love the Bassian Thrush. Number one photo is a White-browed Scrub-wren though.

Nice work Tim, love that Thrush shot with the nice background and water on the grass.
Lovely photos Tim! It sounds like it was a great outing
