My husband and I always laughed about this, but if we hadn't taken any nice photos for some time, we used to say: let's go to the Park and take photos of some "non-moving objects" , meaning of Ducks. Eventually I learned to love Ducks and Ducklings. So, to take some "feel good photos" , Ducks it is.
Took about 30 of this one yesterday, and it did make me feel good.
Go to the Park and try it.

Wow! Stunning photo! I always think that they look slightly crazy with that hairdo and the eyes
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for your nice comment Elsie

Beak looks robust to say the least :-) Nice shot of a bird I haven't seen as yet.
And they are not called Whistling Ducks for nothing. They have a very loud and sharp whistle.

Ditto Rick, great shot of a bird I haven't seen yet but that includes a heap of birds. Interesting to see that Elsie has seen them so maybe they are around SE Queensland. Good to see you posting again Araminta.
Samford Valley Qld.
I see them every day at my place They eat our domestic animals grain, and we have a few dams that they like to use. After seeing this photo, I am determined to try harder to get some good shots of them
Reflex I see them sometime on the dam at work in Samford so they are definately around.
I have even seen them on the lake in Samford as well.
Agreed though, its a beautiful picture Araminta
A great portrait, M-L. Didn't think we had these in Melbourne. So nice to see you posting again!

Shhhhh George, we don't really. They have them at Healesville on their lake, we call that our Park, because it's only up the road from us.
I knew you'd pick it !

Nice Reflex.
What a regal portrait Araminta!
We have a duck pond not far from here, am going to go and shoot some ducks with my camera. I do imagine it would be good to have sitting targets to practice taking nice photos!
Thanks for sharing.
Happy Birding!
