Here are a few of Crested Shrike-tits from earlier this month. This is the closest i have managed to get so far. The sun was close to setting as usual but i managed a couple before it got too dark.

Where did you see these birds vas? I have been a few times to Scheyville NP & Mitchell park in the Windsor area hoping to see them without luck.

I got them just before the sun started dissapearing but had to do alot of PP to get them bright enough because i couldnt get the sun behind me where they were. I got these in Penrith by the river.
I have seen them @ Mitchell Park close to the creek, south creek, and during various bass fishing adventures on the Nepean in my kayak and Mulgoa NR a few times. It seems like they like to be close to water.
Olympus E-M1 with 40-150mm f2.8 pro lens with 1.4x teleconverter. Thats a 420mm FF equivalent. Pretty short for small birds but it's temporary until the 300mm f4 (600mm FF equivalent) comes out. That with my mc-14 teleconverter will also give me 840mm FF equivalent @ f5.6 when i need more zoom. As for anything else it's just camo clothes and my camera backpack.

Thanks for the info vas .... I have had the penrith river walk on my list of places to check out for some time, so will have to give it a go in the near future. Such a unique looking bird, I would really like to see them.
