Devster, centre point only as I had 1.4TC on f5.6 lens so therefore f8 and that's the only option.
The 1.4TC is almost permanently attached, mistake not to remove for this shot as I really could have used more focus points and I went there with sound recording hoping to flush it out and was expecting it to be running.
I will be getting a sound recording of this bird, it makes a fantastic 'galloping horse' sound.
What a beauty to capture Dave. I think it's extra exciting and rewarding when you're able to capture the more secretive type birds. Thanks for sharing!
good pic of a very secretive bird

Looks like a 'best photo' to me. Good work. I am yet to see one of those.
I have recently been excited by my first sightings of spotless crakes (mid-winter too), tough to photograph, but have managed a few very ordinary pics

Wow! That's not a bird you see very often. Great shot!

Well done finding one - nice photo
Well done, I would be posting that with joy!
Thanks for comments all. It was definitely a 'miss' see this photo, focus point on the ground and just kept bird in the frame.
I can't take credit for the find either, a local Bushcare Volunteer found it (recognised it's song)

Dave do you use auto focus points or do you manually select the point?
I'd still be happy with that find.
