Had a good walk along the cliffs and through the heath at Cape Solander Botany Bay NSW. From cliffs get distant views of whales and dolphins along with cormorants, gannets and terns. The heath has interesting variety of bird life but dominated by thousands of New Holland honey eaters battling it out with a good population of little wattle birds. Found a nice fairy wren hopping along the cliff edge. Also was very suprised to see a quick glimpse of a flock of yellow tail black cockatoos.
What a gorgeous set WD! Love them all but particularly the Wren, beautiful reflections in the first and such detail in that second shot and lovely light. What a bonus to see whales and dolphins too - looks like a lovely sunny day. We have half a dozen different shades of grey skys in Tas at the moment with 5 mins of blue here and there

Nice work WD, I like the wren in the water but all are good

I can't believe how common the New Holland Honeyeaters are down south WD. They always remind me of the Black And White Minstrel Show which was a hugely popular variety program that ran on British TV from 1958 to 1978.

Great set of birds WD.
NHHs are a beautifully coloured bird but they really are a pain in the a### from a photography POV, so aggressive and territorial.
They seem to be in plague proportions down here in SA the last few months.
Thanks for the comments.
It was a great day AnnieW, beautiful blue skies and sea ... not to make you jealous of our weather! But you made me jealous of your skill, as I thought I had good detail in my wren, until I saw your wren family photos.
The NHH seem to be very prolific in some spots at the coast in Sydney Rick, generally not over common else where. The worst gang in suburban sydney are the noisy miners.
Reflex, I see exactly what you mean. I remember that show, my parents enjoyed it. I have always thought they looked like a gentleman in a black tux and white waistcoat, but you have hit it on the head.
Nice set of shots WD. I particularly like the first shot of the wren and the 3 NHHE standing guard.
