I have been making a concerted effort to sort all of my pics, less than 2000 now to sort :))

this shorebird was at Stockton Sandspit, near Newcastle, NSW on 24 Feb '13

I am probably wrong not too good with shore birds, but they look like red knots in eclipse plumage?

thanks Tegan, I thought that the bill was too long for Red Knot - should be roughly equal to head length

That's what I thought too pacman, but the plumage looks right, just the eyebrow that throws me of
