Ist photo - I thought were all Red-necked Stints, but, the size difference is throwing me. 2nd photo is just a enlargement. The bigger bird's feet are just hopefully in a hollow and not been chopped off.
3rd photo - middle bird - Red-necked Stint, rhs - possibly a Lesser/Greater Sand Plover & lhs - looks like the bigger bird in the 1st photo.
Better put in, Taken at Scarborough, Qld.
Thanks for the help.
cheers

All Red-necked Stints, except the Sand Plover. Many waders do very in size between individuals, male & females.
I'm not sure about your Sand Plover, I think probably Lesser? Have you got any more photos showing the head & bill more square-on?
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the I.D's, amazing the size differences.
Lucky it's just the head you want square on and not the body. Here's 2 different angles.

Quite a small/short bill relative to the head size, so I'm reasonably confident it's a Lesser Sand Plover.
Here's a Greater Sand Plover for comparison.
Thanks Steve.
That's a great photo.
Made it really easy to see the difference in the size of the bills and also the foreheads.
Cheers
